Prospective Member Info

The Ligure Women’s Auxiliary is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds in support of charitable, educational and cultural interests in the Oakland / Alameda County area. The Auxiliary was founded in 1938 rich in Italian culture by immigrants who settled throughout the East Bay.

Our membership participates in various fundraisers throughout the year, including the Annual Ligure Scholars, Inc. Wine Tasting Event held in the spring, as well as the LSI Golf and Bocce Tournament Event held during the summer. Throughout the year we sponsor a variety of events, including Dinner Dances, Lunches and an All East Bay Clubs Annual Picnic.  All the events we sponsor appeal to women of all ages.  Our membership is encouraged to bring their families and friends to join in on the fun.

General Membership meetings are held monthly.  Membership is open to those with the following qualifications:

      • Any woman 18 years of age or older of Italian descent
      • Any woman married to a member of the Ligure Club, Inc., regardless of nationality
      • Any woman interested in promoting our Italian culture and traditions who is willing to uphold the ideals of our Auxiliary, not to exceed 6% of our membership if they are not of Italian descent

Currently, 2015 annual dues are $35.00 per year for returning members; however, the New Member Application requires a $45.00 fee (which includes the first year's membership dues and administrative costs).
